Shi Shi Beach -Olympic National Park - Makah Tribal Land - Washington
|

Shi Shi Beach on the Olympic Peninsula is a
beautiful beach with 2 access points. Day
hikers typically use the Shi Shi Beach Trail
Head located in the Makah Tribal
Wilderness. Backpackers can also access
this beach from the Olympic National Park
trail system from the south.
Use of the Makah Tribe's Shi Shi Beach Trail
requires a Makah Recreational Use Permit
that can be purchased at multiple locations in
Neah Bay.
From Neah Bay follow the road signs to the
trail head.
Be sure to read all the Makah Trail Rules and
Guidelines, including rules for the portion of
beach that is Makah Wilderness. The trail
head signs will have all of this important
information.
The trail down to the beach becomes very
steep as you enter the National Park. This is
where the Makah trail ends.
Once you are on the beach at the bottom of
the trail, beach to the north is Makah while
beach to the south is Olympic National Park.
Trail is just a bit over 2 miles to the Beach.
